-Collection of Information
NoVirusThanks.org and the Online Virus Scanner do not need a registration to be used/browsed/visited, we are not interested in your name and other personal information related to you.
We may log some information that can help us to make some statistics on the visitors that browse our site, such as IP Address, Browser, Operating System (for example Windows or Linux).
As far as we use this information, it is done anonymously, for example we can use your IP Address to create a statistic of how many visitors come from Italy, or we can create a statistic of how many users visited our website with a certain Browser (such as Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, etc).
We can use your IP Address to:
1) respond to abuse of our service, for example, we can block certain IP Address from visit our site if we discover that the IP Address tried to damage the website/server;
2) respond to file abuse reports with the Internet Service Provider associated with that IP Address if we have a reason to believe that criminal activities are involved.

We may store (temporarily) the files that you send in our online-virus-scanner and the files that you submitted can be shared with Anti-Malware and Security Companies that participate in our project (and some individual researchers) generally if the file is detected by at least one Antivirus Software that is present in the list of the engines of the NoVirusThanks Online Virus Scanner. We cannot exercise control over the actions that these Anti-Malware Companies take. The files are not shared with entities that are outside the Antivirus/Security Industry.
If you do not want that your file will be shared or distributed because you think that can contain sensitive data or for other personal reasons, you can enable the "Advanced options" and check the "Do not distribute the sample".
